Aften Brook Szymanski (1981- still kicking) was born in Twin Falls, Idaho. She started writing at the age of thirteen. It took her until she was an adult to not be afraid to share that writing—well, there’s still a little fear involved, but it’s not enough to hold her back.

When she’s not working as a teacher for the visually impaired, she can be found behind open laptops, tablets, hardbacks, and paperbacks of all kinds. She loves veggies and junk food—because life needs balance. She often freezes half a bottle of Pepsi so it turns into a homemade slushy.

Aften lives with her husband, three kids, and one unhappy cat in a magical land of nearly-never-ending cold in Wyoming.
